Material Handler II

Responsibilities

• Load and unload materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand
• Operate industrial trucks or electric hoists to assist in moving materials and products
• Load materials into vehicles and install strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent damage
• Convey materials from storage or work sites to designated areas
• Count, weigh, and record the number of units handled on daily production sheets
• Attach identifying tags or labels to materials and containers
• Stack or assemble materials into bundles and band them together as required
• Read work orders or follow oral instructions to ascertain materials to be moved
• Maintain a clean work area, including machines and equipment

Requirements

• High School level education
• 1-3 years of related experience
• Valid forklift operator’s license
• Ability to lift and move objects up to 40 pounds
• Proficiency in reading and writing English
• Strong hand-eye coordination
• Ability to read and interpret floor plans, work orders, and operating instructions
