Material Handler II

Responsibilities

• Load, unload, and move materials within the plant, yard, or work site
• Operate industrial trucks or electric hoists to assist in moving products
• Read work orders or follow oral instructions to identify materials to be moved
• Load materials into vehicles and install strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent damage
• Count, weigh, and record the number of units handled on daily production sheets
• Attach identifying tags or labels to materials and containers
• Stack or assemble materials into bundles and band them together as required
• Maintain a clean work area, including machines and equipment

Requirements

• High School level education
• 1-3 years of related experience
• Valid forklift operator’s license
• Proficiency in reading and writing English
• Ability to lift and move objects up to 40 pounds
• Strong hand-eye coordination and ability to follow technical instructions
