Material Handler II

Responsibilities

• Read work orders or follow oral instructions to identify materials or containers to be moved
• Load and unload materials onto pallets, trays, racks, and shelves using hands or a forklift
• Load materials into vehicles and install strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent damage during transit
• Count, weigh, and record the number of units handled on daily production sheets
• Attach identifying tags or labels to materials
• Scan freight using a warehouse management system with RF equipment

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Less than one year of related warehouse experience
• Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds regularly
• Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
• Ability to stand or sit for long periods and perform physical tasks such as stooping, kneeling, and climbing
