Material Handler I

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic repairs and assembly for custom fire emergency vehicles.
• Diagnose, detect, and repair electrical issues on vehicle electrical (12v / 24v) systems.
• Identify, locate, remove, and replace parts or components to meet engineering and customer changes.
• Set up and operate a wide range of equipment and machine tools, including hand tools, power tools, and specialized testing equipment.
• Work from shop orders, schematics, prints, and diagrams to ensure manufacturing and quality requirements are met.
• Participate in LEAN and continuous improvement activities to optimize production processes.
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment in line with 5-S philosophy and company safety standards.

Requirements

• High school graduate or GED preferred.
• Proficiency in math and blueprint reading.
• Computer literacy and familiarity with operating systems.
• Strong problem-solving skills and high attention to detail.
• Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 40 pounds frequently.
• Physical capability to stand for long periods, climb ladders, and work in various physical positions (stooping, kneeling, crouching).
• Ability to work at heights above 4 feet using fall protection devices.
