Material Handler

Responsibilities

• Organize, stock, and validate production material counts using a warehouse management system.
• Compile parts into assembly kits based on the Bill of Materials.
• Receive, store, and account for incoming inventory from suppliers.
• Deliver materials to designated assembly line workstations according to production schedules.
• Remove used packaging and kits from the line for disposal and replenishment.
• Quarantine suspect parts for engineering escalation.
• Document all material movements, including check-ins and check-outs, to maintain precise stock levels.
• Conduct regular cycle counts and participate in inventory audits to reconcile discrepancies.
• Coordinate with warehouse, supply chain, and production teams to resolve material shortages.
• Follow company safety protocols and workplace organization standards such as 5S and FIFO.

Requirements

• Previous experience in materials handling, inventory management, or warehouse operations, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency in using inventory management systems and tracking tools like barcode scanners.
• Ability to lift and transport materials safely (up to 50 lbs).
• Strong attention to detail with a methodical approach to documentation.
• Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and production workflows.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team setting.
• Strong time management skills and a commitment to punctuality.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with high-tech manufacturing tools and automation.
• Experience with robotic systems, automation, or electromechanical assembly.
• Forklift or other powered equipment certification.
