Material Handler

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain stationary and mobile heavy equipment, including stacker-reclaimers, bulldozers, front end loaders, and scrapers.
• Manage coal, limestone, gypsum, and ash handling systems using a Distributed Control System (DCS) and Ovation software.
• Perform Lock Out Tag Out procedures as necessary to ensure safety.
• Oversee conveyor systems, rail unloading, and traveling barge unloaders.
• Maintain housekeeping of all assigned stationary and mobile equipment.
• Instruct and train employees in lower classifications on coal handling system procedures.
• Communicate operational status and duty updates clearly to relief personnel.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Valid driver's license.

Preferred Qualifications

• Three years of experience in heavy equipment operation (bulldozers, front end loaders).
• Three years of experience operating coal conveying systems (conveyors, coal feeders, crushers, stacker/reclaimers).
• Experience operating a Distributed Control System (DCS).
• Experience operating gantry cranes.
