Material Handler

Responsibilities

• Operate lifting devices including forklifts, cranes, hoists, and pallet jacks to load, unload, transport, or stack material
• Position lifting devices around pallets, skids, or boxes and secure products for transport to designated areas
• Read work orders and follow verbal instructions to identify materials or containers to be moved
• Maintain safety procedures and use required personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses and steel-toed boots
• Communicate with team members to coordinate material movement
• Act as a back-up driver for the company truck when necessary

Requirements

• 1–2 years of manufacturing experience
• Valid forklift certification
• Valid unrestricted driver's license
• High School Diploma or GED
• Ability to work in a machine shop environment containing dust, grease, and metal shavings
• Ability to work overtime and weekends as requested
• Ability to work safely in a fast-paced environment
