Material Handler

Responsibilities

• Load and unload wet and dry railcars and tanker trucks for customer distribution
• Operate pumps and valves to unload railcars and sanitize tanker trailers
• Perform and document quality control (QC) checks to ensure products meet specifications
• Complete and maintain QC logs and forms according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
• Perform terminal sanitation duties as assigned by management
• Conduct daily equipment inspections and report mechanical defects to the Supervisor
• Operate computer systems to input data and perform other business functions
• Handle and connect hoses, couple/uncouple trailers, and manage landing legs and 5th wheel pins
• Ascend and descend tractor cabs, trailers, railcars, storage tanks, catwalks, and ladders

Requirements

• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals
• Basic math skills, including the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using weight, volume, and distance measurements
• Ability to operate computer systems for data entry
• Physical ability to perform manual tasks, including climbing ladders, catwalks, and tanks
• Ability to solve practical problems and follow instructions provided in written, oral, or diagram form
