Material Handler 1

Responsibilities

• Move glass and metal products safely from tables, rolling racks, delivery trucks, or wood crates
• Operate specialized equipment including forklifts and overhead vacuum-assisted cranes
• Transport and rotate materials through various phases of the laminating process
• Read work orders and follow strict job standards for safety and quality
• Inspect product quality for visual flaws
• Use a tape measure to interpret mathematical measurements
• Attach appropriate labels and tags to products and paperwork
• Maintain a clean work area and notify supervisors of issues

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Ability to drive a forklift and work around overhead cranes
• Ability to read, understand, and communicate
• Basic mathematical and computer knowledge
• Ability to stand and walk for up to 10 hours on concrete
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs individually and 150 lbs with a partner
• Ability to work in moderate to high noise and temperature environments

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior work experience in a production or manufacturing environment
