Material Estimator, Specialist

Responsibilities

• Review and analyze Bills of Materials (BOMs) to develop accurate material cost estimates for proposals and program execution
• Obtain, review, and update supplier quotations and RFP responses to ensure pricing reflects current cost data
• Utilize advanced Microsoft Excel skills to consolidate, analyze, and report cost information
• Collaborate with Proposal, Program Management, and Supply Chain teams to validate pricing and support cost strategy
• Maintain data integrity across cost models and estimating tools to ensure compliance with internal standards
• Manage vendor relationships and execute procurement activities to align with program specifications
• Support material cost analysis, variance tracking, and historical pricing trend reviews

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Finance, Industrial Engineering, or a related field with 4+ years of relevant experience
• Graduate Degree with a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience
• Or, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience in lieu of a degree
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (formulas, lookups, pivot tables, and data validation)
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting government or defense proposal environments (familiarity with FAR/DFARS)
• Experience reading and interpreting Bills of Materials (BOMs) and supplier quotations
• Experience with ERP systems such as SAP or Infor LN
• Understanding of cost analysis principles and proposal pricing structures
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
