Material Engineer

Responsibilities

• Review contractor material submittals and obtain required approvals according to project specifications
• Serve as the focal point for scheduling and controlling construction materials and equipment at the job site
• Conduct inspections to ensure work complies with contract specifications
• Coordinate the work of subconsultants for material testing
• Maintain project files, perform material inspections, and write daily diaries
• Prepare daily reports and required contract documentation
• Verify that only approved materials are incorporated into the work
• Identify and report potential conflicts or issues regarding construction materials with proposed solutions
• Collect and file Certificates of Compliance, MSDS, and inspection tags
• Participate in the development of job safety practices and quality control procedures
• Perform mathematical calculations to prepare engineering graphs and charts
• Observe and record work execution to ensure adherence to approved methods

Requirements

• B.Sc. in Civil Engineering, Geology Engineering, Materials Engineering, or an equivalent degree
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in infrastructure projects
• At least 5 years of experience within the UAE/GCC region working on roads, bridges, or tunnels
• Strong technical reporting skills
• Proficiency in MS Office and basic AutoCAD
• Experience in laboratory management
• Excellent stakeholder communication skills
