Material & Catalyst Testing Technologist

Responsibilities

• Operate small reactor systems and benchtop lab process units to test materials, catalysts, and processes
• Support research, development, and optimization of processes and catalytic materials
• Perform catalyst loading, feed blending, preparation, and data analysis/workup
• Conduct selected analytical testing and troubleshoot reactor units
• Manage equipment and sample inventory
• Prioritize safe operation, identify potential safety issues, and propose solutions
• Work directly with research investigators to execute experimental work directions

Requirements

• B.S. degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, or a related scientific field
• Hands-on experience in laboratory operations (e.g., batch/continuous reactors, titration, distillation, chromatography)
• Experience with pressurized equipment, pumps, compressors, gauges, and sensors
• Experience with analytical equipment such as GC and MS
• Knowledge of scientific concepts including gas laws, mass and energy balances, and chemical concentrations
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
• Strong familiarity with safe laboratory practices and handling hazardous chemicals

Preferred Qualifications

• Strong mechanical aptitude
• Familiarity with commonly used lab-scale componentry
• Knowledge of heterogeneous catalysis and industrial applications
