Mate

Responsibilities

• Serve as a USCG licensed officer and backup to the vessel captain
• Supervise and direct all aspects of longline fishing operations
• Oversee deck operations and gear handling
• Maintain accurate records of fishing operations, offload documentation, and personnel files
• Administer required random and post-accident drug screenings

Requirements

• USCG 500 GT near coastal uninspected fishing vessel Mate's license (or greater)
• Familiarity with all aspects of longline fishing
• Drill Instructor certification
• HACCP certification
• Specimen collector certification for drug screenings
• Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening (no THC)
• Ability to pass pre-employment background check
• Legal authorization to work in the United States
