Master Thesis: Distressed Inventory Shop Tool Development

Responsibilities

• Analyze the definition and impact of "distressed inventory" within a real-life supply chain context
• Define key criteria for inventory management, such as expiration dates, rotation, value, and risk
• Design and build a user-friendly shop tool (dashboard, application, or prototype) to transform data into actionable insights
• Visualize inventory levels, priorities, and potential actions such as sales, repackaging, disposal, or donation
• Evaluate the business impact of the tool, focusing on cost savings and warehouse space optimization

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a Master's program (Business Engineering, Data Science, Industrial Engineering, or similar)
• Strong interest in supply chain management, data analytics, and process optimization
• Analytical and critical thinking skills with a proactive approach to ownership
• Ability to work with data and translate complex requirements into functional tools

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with data analysis and visualization tools
• Proficiency in SQL, Python, Power Platform, or BI tools
• Understanding of UX/usability principles for operational users
• Knowledge of decision support systems and process analysis
