About the role
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate machining equipment to produce high-precision, low-volume critical components with minimal supervision
- Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, G.D.&T., and process routings
- Perform detailed inspection of machined parts to ensure quality standards
- Operate computers for production tracking and data entry
- Perform general preventative maintenance, including chip removal, coolant maintenance, and lubricant management
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 3 years of experience setting up and running manual lathes
- Minimum of 4 years of experience setting up and running manual vertical mills
- Minimum of 5 years of experience with setup, operation, and conversational programming of CNC lathes (preferably Okuma) or CNC vertical mills (Fanuc)
- Proficiency with precision measuring tools including 0” to 6” micrometers, depth micrometers, dial calipers, and scale dial indicators
- Strong blueprint reading and GD&T knowledge
- Ability to lift up to 35 lbs. independently and up to 250 lbs. with mechanical assistance
- Basic math, reading, and computer skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Additional technical education
- Experience with O.D. cylindrical grinding and surface grinding
