About the role

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate machining equipment to produce high-precision, low-volume critical components with minimal supervision
  • Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, process routings, and G.D.&T. specifications
  • Perform detailed inspection of machined parts to ensure quality standards
  • Operate computers for production tracking and data entry
  • Perform general preventative maintenance on machines, including chip removal and coolant/lubricant management
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience setting up and running manual lathes
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience setting up and running manual vertical mills
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience with setup, operation, and conversational programming of CNC lathes or CNC vertical mills
  • Proficiency with precision measuring tools including micrometers (0” to 6”), depth micrometers, dial calipers, and dial indicators
  • Strong understanding of GD&T and blueprint reading
  • Ability to lift up to 35 lbs. independently and up to 250 lbs. with mechanical assistance
  • Basic math, reading, and computer skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Additional technical education
  • Experience with O.D. cylindrical grinding and surface grinding
  • Experience with Okuma or Fanuc controls
