Master HVAC Technician

Responsibilities

• Operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair building HVACR equipment to optimize energy use and ensure a safe environment.
• Install HVACR units, including electronic, electrical, and mechanical components, as well as ductwork and tubing.
• Maintain and repair computerized electronic, pneumatic, and direct digital control (DDC) devices.
• Perform repairs on electrical equipment, oil and gas equipment, and various refrigeration systems including refrigerators and freezers.
• Recover, recycle, and reclaim refrigerants in accordance with industry standards and protocols.
• Read and interpret complex blueprints, sketches, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
• Perform specialized tasks including brazing, silver/lead soldering, pipefitting, welding, and fabrication.
• Coordinate repairs with other trades and assist with campus event setups as required.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• EPA Universal/R410A license.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in the HVACR trade.
• Proficiency with multimeters and personal hand tools required for the trade.
• Valid Driver's License with a good driving record.
• Physical ability to climb ladders, bend, reach, crawl, and lift up to 60 lbs.
• Ability to pass a timed 1.5-hour pre-qualification exam and a verbal panel interview.

Preferred Qualifications

• Current OSHA 10 certification or higher.
• Experience operating aerial/scissor lifts, bucket trucks, and forklifts.
