Master Electrician

Responsibilities

• Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot campus-wide power systems and building electrical systems, including medium (5-35kv) and low voltage (600v and less) distribution.
• Install electrical fixtures such as services, conduit, panels, motor starters, and control panels.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical, life, and fire safety systems, including 208 and 480 volt single and three-phase systems.
• Perform preventative maintenance on residential and commercial-type electrical equipment and fixtures.
• Read and interpret complex blueprints, sketches, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
• Coordinate repairs with other trades, offices, and departments.
• Assist with furniture and event setups, decorations, and other tasks as required.

Requirements

• ICC Master Electrician certificate, a state Master Electrician license (NJ or DE), or a journeyman wireman in good standing with the IBEW.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints, drawings, and schematics.
• Valid driver's license.
• Current ANSI/OSHA compliant training card to operate aerial lifts, bucket trucks, or forklifts.
• Physical ability to climb ladders, bend, reach, crawl, and lift up to 60 lbs.
• Ability to work in enclosed spaces.
• Proficiency in basic Microsoft Windows and Outlook.

Preferred Qualifications

• Current OSHA 10 certification or higher.
• Experience operating aerial/scissor lifts, bucket trucks, and forklifts.
