About the role

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate live and recorded programming for broadcast, including commercials, network, and local programming
  • Monitor multiple channels to ensure regulatory compliance and signal integrity
  • Operate broadcast automation equipment and follow FCC monitoring and EAS procedures
  • Maintain program and transmitter logs and observe transmitter readings
  • Edit and append playlists and acquire content from distributors
  • Report on equipment issues and transmission discrepancies
  • Assist with newscast production, including lighting, script preparation, and moving props/sets
  • Maintain studio appearance and cleanliness
  • Adapt to flexible schedules, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays

Requirements

  • 1+ years of experience with computers, email, software, and web applications
  • Prior exposure to television station operations and newscast production
  • Knowledge of graphics systems for on-air branding and messaging
  • Ability to handle the stress and pressure of time-sensitive newscast production
  • Ability to work both independently and in a collaborative environment
  • Flexibility to work a varied schedule based on organizational needs
  • Higher education in technology, SBE certification, or relevant military experience is considered
