Master Control Hub Operator

Responsibilities

• Monitor multiple programming sources simultaneously and manage source switching for local television stations remotely.
• Manage live program logs to ensure accuracy and ensure correct commercial spots are aired.
• Solve technical problems and make critical judgment calls regarding programming changes, special reports, and technical difficulties.
• Consult with internal customers regarding local transmitter parameters and operations.
• Collaborate with media prep technicians, traffic personnel, and local news teams, especially during breaking news.
• Maintain preparedness to execute disaster recovery procedures and perform quality assurance checks.
• Work flexible hours, including overtime, holidays, and weekends, as required by broadcasting needs.

Requirements

• Associate's degree in a related discipline or equivalent professional experience.
• Working knowledge of video servers, routing processes, and related equipment.
• Working knowledge of transmitter parameters and operations.
• Ability to multitask and maintain composure in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Strong organizational skills and high attention to detail.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in a television master control or related broadcasting field.
• Proficiency in quick mathematical calculations, specifically regarding timekeeping and clock/timing evaluation.
