Markets & Derivatives Senior Counsel

Responsibilities

• Act as a strategic legal advisor for Galaxy regarding ISDAs/CSAs, confirms, prime brokerage agreements, lending, and vendor transactions
• Advise on swap dealer related rules
• Negotiate documentation with hedge funds, crypto native firms, investment companies, and institutional clients
• Coordinate resources and manage outside counsel engagement
• Collaborate with functional partners to ensure awareness and escalation of issues
• Assist with implementing global regulatory and market changes affecting trading and documentation
• Draft and negotiate non-disclosure agreements
• Leverage AI tools to improve productivity and decision-making

Requirements

• Over 6+ years of transactional experience reviewing financial agreements (ISDA/CSAs, trade confirmations, prime brokerage)
• Product knowledge or regulatory experience within OTC derivatives and swap dealer businesses
• Experience in traditional financial markets, preferably at a sell-side bank supporting derivative desks
• Active membership in the NY state bar
• Ability to apply traditional financial legal concepts within the crypto space
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of the regulatory treatment of digital assets
• Experience negotiating technology agreements, procurement, and vendor contracts (SaaS, cloud, hardware)
• Minimum of 2+ years at a top-tier law firm
