Marketing Counsel

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary legal reviewer for marketing collateral across all Brex products, including website content, advertising, email, social campaigns, and sales enablement materials
• Provide pragmatic, actionable advice on advertising and marketing requirements, focusing on claim substantiation and avoiding UDAP/UDAAP risks
• Partner closely with marketing, product, and go-to-market teams in real time during campaign design and product launches
• Develop scalable review processes, templates, playbooks, and self-serve guidance for marketing teams
• Track and analyze US and international advertising, marketing, and consumer-protection laws
• Support sweepstakes, promotions, endorsements, testimonials, and partner co-marketing arrangements

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience in law firms and fintech companies, specifically advising on advertising and consumer protection for regulated financial products
• Familiarity with UDAP/UDAAP, FTC advertising principles, and claim substantiation
• Law degree and admission to practice in at least one jurisdiction
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for internal memos and external marketing collateral
• Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior in-house counsel experience at a scaling fintech or payments company
• Experience interacting directly with regulatory agencies
