Marketing Automation Engineer

Responsibilities

• Architect and build complex multi-branch, behavior-triggered journey flows in Braze
• Create sophisticated email, SMS, and push templates using Liquid dynamic templating
• Manage subscription and compliance workflows for SMS and email
• QA all campaigns including audience spot-checks and template rendering validation
• Translate marketing briefs into technical audience definitions and logic
• Query Snowflake using SQL to validate events and attributes
• Build and maintain a reusable component library for content blocks and modules
• Partner with cross-functional teams to define lifecycle stages and segmentation

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience with a major CEP/CRM or marketing automation platform
• 2+ years of experience specifically with Braze
• Deep expertise in journey/canvas building and branching logic
• Proficiency in Liquid code for dynamic templating
• Experience with audience segmentation using behavioral data and custom attributes
• Ability to read API responses and event payloads to diagnose data issues
• Strong understanding of email deliverability and SMS compliance (TCR regulations)

Preferred Qualifications

• SQL proficiency and experience with cloud data warehouses like Snowflake, Redshift, or BigQuery
• Background in consumer apps, marketplaces, or loyalty/rewards programs
• Familiarity with CRM data flows via REST API or event streaming
• Experience with in-app messaging and push notification strategy
