About the role

Responsibilities

  • Support the university’s strategic marketing and communications efforts through the creation and distribution of compelling written, visual, and digital content
  • Develop and manage the university’s social media presence, including content planning, publishing, engagement, and performance analysis
  • Strengthen Rider University’s visibility, reputation, and brand awareness across digital platforms
  • Connect prospective students, current students, alumni, and the broader community through audience-focused advertising, email marketing, and newsletter content
  • Collaborate with various departments, colleges, and administrative offices to ensure a consistent and engaging brand voice

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, journalism, or a related field
  • Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in marketing, communications, social media management, or content creation
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills for diverse audiences and platforms
  • Proficiency with content management systems (CMS) and social media management tools
  • Working knowledge of photography, video editing, and digital content creation software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Canva)
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in higher education, nonprofit, or mission-driven organizations
  • Knowledge of AP Style and digital content best practices
  • Experience with email marketing platforms such as Mailchimp, Slate, or Constant Contact
