Market Solutions Engineer

Responsibilities

• Support and maintain PMU applications, including stand-alone visualization software and EMS-based Voltage Stability Monitoring (VSM)
• Maintain EMS and Phasor Data Acquisition and Control systems integration
• Ensure integrity of Smart-Grid application software through Business Owner Quality Assurance procedures
• Develop and implement PMU application functions in coordination with transmission owners and neighboring control areas
• Provide Power System Operations Dispatcher support and operator training for Smart-Grid applications
• Develop software and operating procedures for special market and operating conditions
• Collaborate with Energy Market and Grid Operation personnel on new Market Design initiatives and network model projects
• Perform Factory Acceptance, Site Acceptance, and regression testing for new platforms and projects
• Provide technical support to Energy Market Operation, Market Validation, and IT Quality Assurance teams
• Support testing efforts for Energy Market and Capacity Market Operations, including resource adequacy and capacity auction models
• Review requirements and design notes from vendors and develop User Acceptance test plans

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely-related technical field
• Two years of experience as an Analyst or Engineer in the energy industry
• Two years of experience creating optimization models for Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) dispatch
• Two years of experience developing bidding strategies in wholesale electricity markets
• Proficiency with Python and Microsoft Visual Studio Code
