Market Risk Analyst

Responsibilities

• Monitor trading activities for compliance with Market Risk Management policies
• Identify, measure, and report trading gross margin, exposures, and portfolio market risk
• Act as the market risk focal point for front-office and senior stakeholders
• Provide advice to the Commercial organization on risk appetite, limit utilization, and mitigation strategies
• Execute daily market risk processes and generate insightful risk reports and commentary
• Ensure data integrity by validating positions and reconciling inconsistencies with traders
• Develop and build out risk reporting and ad-hoc analysis tools using advanced computer skills
• Collaborate with Global Trading support functions, including Finance and Accounting

Requirements

• 2-4 years of experience in financial, energy, or chemical risk management
• Strong knowledge of crude oil, refined products, natural gas, and/or freight markets
• Deep understanding of physical trading, derivatives, and financial products
• Proficiency in Excel, SQL, and quantitative programming languages such as Python
• Bachelor's degree in Economics, Finance, Mathematics, or Statistics (Master's, MBA, CFA, or Ph.D. preferred)
• Excellent quantitative and analytical skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced proficiency in Python and SQL
• High level of Excel proficiency
• Experience with Energy Trading Risk Management (ETRM) systems
• Familiarity with trade capture and nomination/scheduling systems
