About the role
Responsibilities
- Serve as the main point of contact for Marine and Technical Systems cybersecurity.
- Support System Managers in developing cybersecurity policies for Marine and Technical Machinery Control Systems.
- Ensure cybersecurity standards align with regulatory bodies and company policies (e.g., IMO, IACS, DNV, and LR).
- Implement frameworks to identify, protect, detect, respond to, and recover from cyber incidents within MTO systems.
- Apply risk-based engineering standards, including HAZID, HAZOP, and FMEA, to marine control functions.
- Oversee and monitor Ship Cyber Asset registers and Risk Registers for the fleet.
- Manage software change procedures and oversee updates for marine and technical machinery control systems.
- Coordinate with vendors and onboard teams to maintain security standards during the installation of remote connections and interfaces.
- Oversee audits and assessments conducted by Classification Societies, USCG, or other national administrations.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in cybersecurity, specifically regarding Industrial Control Systems (ICS) or Operational Technology (OT).
- Proven knowledge of risk-based approaches such as Risk Assessment, HAZID, HAZOP, and FMEA.
- Ability to implement and manage cybersecurity frameworks for marine and technical operating technology.
- Experience conducting vulnerability assessments and monitoring critical systems for compliance.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for documenting security protocols and incident reports.
- Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Security, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of Marine Cybersecurity regulations including IMO Guidelines, DNV & LR Classification Rules, and IEC TC 80.
- Background in marine engineering or a similar field with maritime systems expertise.
- Professional certifications related to Industrial Control Systems (ICS) or Operational Technology (OT).
- Understanding of maritime Safety Management Systems (SMS) and International Maritime Organization (IMO) resolutions.
- Experience managing cybersecurity projects within a fleet-wide or complex technical infrastructure context.
