Marine Tankerman

Responsibilities

• Conduct barge transfers following company procedures and USCG regulations
• Troubleshoot and perform minor maintenance on barges
• Manage all phases of barge transfers, including heater operation on hot oil barges
• Maintain accurate records and document transfer times for office submission
• Maintain uniforms and necessary transfer equipment in good condition
• Conduct transfer audits on third-party Tankermen and assist in training new personnel
• Interface professionally with customers in accordance with company policies
• Participate in all required safety and training activities

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Valid driver’s license and dependable personal transportation
• Ability to travel to work locations via vehicle or boat within a 200-mile radius of Garyville/Mt. Airy, LA
• Valid USCG Merchant Mariner Credential (MMC) with Tankerman-PIC (Barge) endorsement
• DL (dangerous liquid) qualification
• Valid USCG medical certificate
• Valid Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card (or ability to obtain within 2 weeks of employment)
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test and background check
• Ability to work in all weather conditions, day or night, in remote locations
