Marine Electrician

Responsibilities

• Perform installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems on marine vessels
• Diagnose and resolve electrical faults to ensure minimal vessel downtime
• Inspect and test electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures for safety and functionality
• Ensure all electrical installations comply with maritime safety regulations and company policies
• Collaborate with engineering and maintenance teams to optimize system performance
• Maintain accurate and detailed logs of all work performed and parts used
• Participate in regular safety meetings and training sessions
• Assist in the commissioning and decommissioning of vessels as required

Requirements

• Diploma or Certificate in Electrical Engineering or a related maritime electrical qualification
• Minimum 3 years of experience as a Marine Electrician or in a similar maritime role
• Strong knowledge of marine electrical systems and AC/DC circuitry
• Proficiency in troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance of electrical equipment
• Familiarity with maritime regulations and classification society requirements
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in offshore and shipboard environments
• Strong communication skills and a strict adherence to safety protocols
