About the role
Responsibilities
- Maintain equipment uptime by troubleshooting and resolving machine and PLC issues
- Perform repairs, component replacements, and electrical maintenance to minimize downtime
- Execute preventive and predictive maintenance tasks to reduce equipment failures
- Provide electrical support to production lines to ensure high-quality output and efficiency
- Respond promptly to production staff requests and investigate electrical problems
- Complete accurate documentation, maintenance reports, and MMS entries
- Collaborate with the operations department on process improvements and projects
- Adhere to all safety requirements, including lockout/tagout, hot work, and Arc Flash protocols
Requirements
- Proficiency in PLC programming, troubleshooting, and modification
- Experience developing and modifying HMI screens
- Skilled in installing and programming VFDs, servo drives, and motor control systems
- Expertise in installing and calibrating instrumentation (flow, level, temperature, pressure)
- Strong electrical blueprint reading and use of electrical instruments (volt meters, oscilloscopes)
- Foundational knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems
- Understanding of power distribution and high-voltage switchgear
- Knowledge of Arc Flash regulatory requirements
- Ability to work 12-hour shifts (7 PM – 7 AM)
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with structured failure analysis methodologies like 5 Whys or Fishbone diagrams
- Ability to mentor and train less experienced colleagues
