MAR Technician, Industrial Controls

Responsibilities

• Maintain equipment uptime by troubleshooting and resolving machine and PLC issues
• Perform repairs, component replacements, and electrical maintenance to minimize downtime
• Execute preventive and predictive maintenance tasks to reduce equipment failures
• Provide electrical support to production lines to ensure high-quality output and efficiency
• Respond promptly to production staff requests and investigate electrical problems
• Complete accurate documentation, maintenance reports, and MMS entries
• Collaborate with the operations department on process improvements and projects
• Adhere to all safety requirements, including lockout/tagout, hot work, and Arc Flash protocols

Requirements

• Proficiency in PLC programming, troubleshooting, and modification
• Experience developing and modifying HMI screens
• Skilled in installing and programming VFDs, servo drives, and motor control systems
• Expertise in installing and calibrating instrumentation (flow, level, temperature, pressure)
• Strong electrical blueprint reading and use of electrical instruments (volt meters, oscilloscopes)
• Foundational knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems
• Understanding of power distribution and high-voltage switchgear
• Knowledge of Arc Flash regulatory requirements
• Ability to work 12-hour shifts (7 PM – 7 AM)

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with structured failure analysis methodologies like 5 Whys or Fishbone diagrams
• Ability to mentor and train less experienced colleagues
