About the role
Responsibilities
- Render maps in a 3D engine based on streamed vector data
- Maintain documentation for map interfaces
- Create real-time rendering techniques such as deferred rendering, shadow mapping, HDR, and particle systems
- Build tools and systems to maintain a real-time navigation map for automotive embedded user interfaces
- Write GLSL shaders for specific real-time rendering effects
- Design, code, and debug software to optimize map renderer performance
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including hardware, UI, QA, and designers
- Manage relationships with map data providers
Requirements
- Experience with rendering engines like Unity or Unreal
- Experience using geographic data for map creation
- Experience with vector graphics rendering and rasterization
- Experience with 3D Mesh generation
- Proficiency in C, C++, or C#
- Proficiency in OpenGL or OpenGL ES2
- Familiarity with Agile methodology
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Automotive/Embedded Software, or Systems Engineering
- 5+ years of professional work experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in game graphics optimization (LOD, streaming, culling)
- Direct map rendering experience
- Proven record of innovation through patents, papers, or products
