Manufacturing/Tooling Development Engineering Intern

Responsibilities

• Assist in the design and development of manual or automated tooling fixtures under engineer supervision
• Support engineering evaluations including tolerance checks, GR&R, and basic DOE activities
• Help prepare technical documentation such as drawings, BOM updates, and preventive maintenance sheets
• Collect and analyze production or lab data to support tooling improvement projects
• Provide hands-on assistance with lab prototypes, basic assembly, and test preparation
• Support engineers in vendor coordination, including data preparation and receiving samples
• Assist in preparing review materials like FMEA and concept review slides

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Mechatronics, Manufacturing, or related field)
• Basic understanding of mechanical or manufacturing engineering fundamentals
• Beginner level proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks or similar)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint for data entry and presentations
• Strong problem-solving mindset and a willingness to learn
• Good communication skills; English proficiency is an advantage

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior project work, university lab experience, or technical club involvement
• Beginner level understanding of engineering drawings and GD&T
• Familiarity with ISO concepts
