Manufacturing/Process Engineer (General Assembly)

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support on the shop floor for the installation, adjustment, and setup of components and equipment within assembly lines.
• Conduct field surveys and time/motion studies to identify opportunities for process optimization in workstations.
• Address, document, and follow up on production line failures, deviations, or incidents using root cause analysis.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, Lean Manufacturing, and Workplace Improvement (WPI) projects.
• Support the design, update, and maintenance of workstation layouts.
• Ensure all processes strictly comply with plant quality, safety, and ergonomics standards.
• Coordinate with Engineering, Quality, and Maintenance teams for effective implementation of improvements.
• Assist in training operational personnel on new procedures, work instructions, and best practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Mechatronics, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.
• 1 to 2 years of experience in the automotive industry (robust internships or professional practices are considered).
• Knowledge of manufacturing and assembly processes, ideally within General Assembly (GA).
• Solid understanding of automotive systems.
• Familiarity with problem-solving tools (5 Whys, Ishikawa) and Lean Manufacturing methodologies.
• Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD or SolidWorks for reading and modifying layouts.
• Proactive approach to problem-solving and ability to work under pressure.
• Effective communication skills and a strong sense of urgency.
