Manufacturing Work Team Leader

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage an assigned manufacturing department to achieve operational objectives in safety, quality, cost, and continuous improvement.
• Drive continuous improvement by utilizing Kaizen tools and eliminating waste to create value-added processes.
• Foster a culture of engagement by coaching, teaching, and holding employees accountable to standardized work.
• Manage production using pull systems and one-piece-flow to meet customer demand (takt time).
• Ensure zero-defect quality by identifying root causes of issues and maintaining compliance with ISO 9000 certification.
• Maintain a safe working environment through the implementation of 5-S principles and adherence to safety policies.
• Spend significant time on the shop floor to understand operations and gain direct input from the team.
• Oversee staffing, training, and professional development to increase employee skill sets and contributions.

Requirements

• Minimum of four years of successful supervisory experience in an operations environment or a proven leadership role.
• Proficiency in Lean Manufacturing principles and Kaizen methodologies.
• Strong knowledge of ISO quality systems fundamentals.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to express ideas effectively.
• Proven expertise in conflict resolution within a team environment.
• Ability to make decisive, informed decisions and solve complex problems.
