Manufacturing Test Engineer

Red 6 is an innovative Augmented Reality (AR) technology startup leading the way in synthetic air combat training. Their primary technology enables pilots to simulate the cognitive challenges of flying while accessing realistic, scalable training in dynamic outdoor environments.

Responsibilities

• Develop, release, and maintain manufacturing tests, scripts, tools, and related artifacts for PCBA, subassembly, and system-level production.
• Define test coverage, acceptance criteria, and failure reporting standards.
• Define specifications for jigs, fixtures, and system-level test racks.
• Oversee contract manufacturer (CM) development and duplication of test racks.
• Support test implementation at CM facilities and troubleshoot yield issues.
• Drive root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Ensure test processes meet DOD, aerospace, and IPC standards.
• Develop and maintain test procedures, validation reports, and configuration control documentation.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in production test engineering (aerospace/defense preferred).
• Experience with Python, C/C++, or similar test platforms.
• Strong background in PCBA and system-level electronic test.
• Experience developing automated test systems and fixtures.
• Experience supporting contract manufacturers in test implementation.
• Familiarity with compiling/building test software in manufacturing environments.
• US Citizenship required.
• Ability to travel to contract manufacturer facilities.

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with MIL-STD requirements.
• Experience in environmental and stress screening (ESS/HASS/HALT).
