Manufacturing Technology Manager

Responsibilities

• Lead the Manufacturing Technology function at a large-scale industrial biotechnology site, managing project portfolios and team performance.
• Develop and mentor a multidisciplinary engineering team through goal setting, coaching, and performance reviews.
• Translate business unit goals into actionable departmental initiatives and prioritize multiple projects.
• Support operations by providing robust process, equipment, and automation design solutions, including troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to increase capacity, enhance product quality, and reduce operational costs.
• Collaborate with site capital and automation teams to align resources and develop long-term master plans.
• Partner with Process Research and Development to implement new products and process changes.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of eight years of engineering experience, preferably in industrial or biochemical processing.
• Proven experience in team leadership or project management within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong technical knowledge of industrial biotechnology processes, including fermentation and downstream processing.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate across multiple locations, functions, and business divisions.
• Strong decision-making, prioritization, and strategic thinking skills.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to engage senior leadership.
• Solid financial and business acumen, including experience in budgeting and project justification.

• Experience managing multi-year engineering project pipelines.
• Familiarity with automation systems and capital project planning.
• Proven ability to foster innovation and drive technical excellence across teams.
