Manufacturing Technician

Responsibilities

• Perform crystal growth machine setups and operations to produce industrial sapphire products including rods, ribbons, tubes, and sheets
• Monitor material pullers, temperatures, and product lengths to ensure quality standards
• Operate multiple machines simultaneously using microscopes, camera monitors, and shielded viewers for continuous observation
• Run samples and make necessary temperature and speed adjustments based on visual and mechanical observations
• Cut off material according to specific technical requirements
• Set speeds, feeds, temperatures, and seed orientation, and perform all required machine and die adjustments
• Detect and report improper equipment operation, defective materials, or unusual conditions to the Supervisor
• Install and align die sets, base plates, induction coils, and various water, air, and argon lines

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Ability to work second shift (3:50pm-12:00am) or third shift (11:50pm-8:00am), Monday through Friday
• Proficiency in shop math, including the use of whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
• Ability to read blueprints, specifications, drawings, and Work Instructions
• Basic computer literacy for data entry and record-keeping
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks as required
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow safety protocols

Preferred Qualifications

• One year of experience in a manufacturing environment
• Technical degree or specialized certification
