Manufacturing Technician

Responsibilities

• Perform crystal growth machine setups and operations to produce industrial sapphire products including rods, ribbons, tubes, and sheets
• Monitor temperatures, product lengths, and material pullers to ensure quality standards
• Operate multiple machines simultaneously using microscopes, camera monitors, and shielded viewers for continuous observation
• Inspect samples against specifications and make necessary temperature and speed adjustments
• Set speeds, feeds, temperatures, and seed orientation, making all required adjustments to machines and dies
• Select, align, and install die sets, base plates, induction coils, and various hardware components
• Detect and report equipment malfunctions, defective materials, or unusual conditions to the Supervisor
• Maintain accurate data collection and follow established inspection methods and procedures

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Proficiency in shop math, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division using fractions and decimals
• Ability to read blueprints, specifications, drawings, and Work Instructions
• Basic computer literacy for data entry and record-keeping
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks as required
• Familiarity with safety protocols and the handling of chemicals
• Ability to work second shift (3:50pm-12:00am) or third shift (11:50pm-8:00am), Monday through Friday
• One year of manufacturing experience or a technical degree is preferred
