Manufacturing Technician

Responsibilities

• Perform precision machining operations including surface grinding, polishing, cylindrical grinding, and centerless grinding on sapphire components.
• Interpret travelers, work orders, blueprints, specifications, drawings, and process instructions.
• Operate machines to cut, chamfer, smooth, polish, clean, and size parts according to customer specifications.
• Perform in-process inspections through visual and dimensional checks, focusing on parallelism, angle, concentricity, and thickness.
• Maintain accurate data, comprehensive records, and perform daily equipment upkeep including maintenance and cleaning.
• Use tile saws and belt sanders for manual work and cutting parts.
• Primarily operate lapping machines to polish sapphire.

Requirements

• At least one year of hands-on machining experience.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Proficiency in shop mathematics, including fractions, decimals, rates, ratios, and percentages.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and work instructions.
• Basic PC skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to work the second shift.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience using micrometers and calipers.
