Manufacturing Technician B

Responsibilities

• Fabricate components and assemblies for unmanned aerospace applications in a dynamic production and R&D environment
• Construct layups of carbon fiber, fiberglass, and/or Kevlar using compression molds, vacuum bagging, and compression bladders
• Perform part-fitting operations including filing, sawing, drilling, reaming, and riveting
• Use various adhesives to bond composite, metal, or laminate materials to components and structures
• Execute finishing operations such as filling surface voids, sanding, and painting
• Perform mechanical and electro-mechanical assembly on small, precision parts
• Monitor and verify product quality using measurement tools like micrometers and calipers
• Collaborate with manufacturing, planning, and engineering teams to ensure production success

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent with at least 4 years of relevant experience, or an Associate's Degree with 0-2 years of experience
• Ability to obtain and maintain a US Secret Security clearance
• Ability to lift, push, pull, or transport 25-50 pounds on a regular basis
• Willingness to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to moving mechanical parts, dust, fumes, chemicals, and loud noises
• Ability to comply with all PPE requirements, including respirators and safety glasses

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in the fabrication and integration of composite materials
• Proficiency with shop equipment such as cutting/grinding tools, composite curing ovens, manual mills, and lathes
• Experience working in environments implementing lean practices, ESD, and FOD controls
• Ability to read and understand technical drawings, procedures, and schedules
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office products
