Manufacturing Systems Engineer

Responsibilities

• Maintain and improve the Ignition MES/SCADA system and its integrations across the manufacturing ecosystem
• Troubleshoot and resolve MES/SCADA system issues impacting production, connectivity, and data flow
• Manage data visualization on the manufacturing floor and coordinate with IT to ensure network infrastructure reliability
• Collaborate with facilities and PLC technicians to ensure machines are properly connected and sending accurate data
• Drive the adoption of the Ignition system and lead digital transformation initiatives at the Maryville plant
• Create automated data collection solutions to replace manual input systems
• Build and maintain reports and dashboards in Excel and Power BI to optimize data analysis
• Own the integration and operational reliability between AMRs and manufacturing systems

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, IT, or a related technical field
• Experience in a manufacturing environment with exposure to Industry 4.0, automation, or digital manufacturing
• Hands-on experience with MES/SCADA systems (Ignition or similar platforms preferred)
• Proficiency with data tools including Power BI, Excel, and SQL-based data sources
• Experience with programming languages such as Python, Jython, or Java
• Knowledge of integrating systems across manufacturing environments, including APIs, PLCs, and databases

Preferred Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
• Experience with Continuous Improvement and Lean Manufacturing methodologies
• Familiarity with PostgreSQL or Microsoft SQL Server
• Knowledge of JSON
