Manufacturing Systems Engineer

Responsibilities

• Provide production support and troubleshooting for 24/7 manufacturing operations.
• Manage, modify, and develop computer systems required to manufacture optical fiber.
• Work with production associates, technicians, and engineers to ensure reliable equipment operation via automated control systems and user interfaces.
• Support process and product optimization and improvement efforts.
• Provide training for engineers and production associates on new processes, equipment, or control systems.
• Participate in capital projects and capacity expansion efforts.
• Provide occasional after-hours on-call support.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science (or equivalent experience).
• 1+ years of experience in a technical role or relevant experience.
• Knowledge of programming languages such as VB, .net, C, or Realtime systems.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in production support within a manufacturing environment.
• Realtime programming skills.
• Experience integrating computers into manufacturing processes to increase efficiency.
• Proficiency with MS Windows, iFIX, Ethernet IP I/O, Microsoft Office, SCADA, or TwinCAT.
• Experience with motion systems or real-time control systems.
• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
• Ability to troubleshoot simple low-voltage electrical circuitry.
