About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide production support and troubleshooting for 24/7 manufacturing operations.
- Manage, modify, and develop computer systems required to manufacture optical fiber.
- Work with production associates, technicians, and engineers to ensure reliable equipment operation via automated control systems and user interfaces.
- Support process and product optimization and improvement efforts.
- Provide training for engineers and production associates on new processes, equipment, or control systems.
- Participate in capital projects and capacity expansion efforts.
- Provide occasional after-hours on-call support.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science (or equivalent experience).
- 1+ years of experience in a technical role or relevant experience.
- Knowledge of programming languages such as VB, .net, C, or Realtime systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in production support within a manufacturing environment.
- Realtime programming skills.
- Experience integrating computers into manufacturing processes to increase efficiency.
- Proficiency with MS Windows, iFIX, Ethernet IP I/O, Microsoft Office, SCADA, or TwinCAT.
- Experience with motion systems or real-time control systems.
- Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
- Ability to troubleshoot simple low-voltage electrical circuitry.
