About the role
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain automation solutions using PLCs (Allen Bradley, Siemens, etc.) and integrate them with Emerson DeltaV systems
- Maintain SCADA systems, Trailblazer reporting systems, and equipment PLC/interface hardware
- Support standalone system implementation, including HMI layout, design, power distribution, and I/O assignments
- Collaborate with process subject matter experts to transform requirements into digital automated solutions
- Provide technical guidance for control panel design and support computerized systems validation in a GxP environment
- Perform technical root cause analysis, incident investigations, and troubleshooting on standalone systems
- Support new product introductions (NPI) through automation engineering assessments and system configuration changes
- Provide 24/7 onsite/on-call operational support, including preventative and corrective maintenance
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree and 2 years of engineering experience, or a Master's degree
- Experience in controls engineering and PLC design
- Experience in a GMP biopharmaceutical production environment
- Proficiency with Rockwell industrial automation hardware and systems
- Experience with system integration using OPC, Foundation Fieldbus, Profibus, or DeviceNet
Preferred Qualifications
- Degree in Electrical, Computer Science, Chemical, or Biotech Engineering
- Experience with utility equipment automation such as autoclaves, clean steam generators, and WFI systems
- Familiarity with GAMPs, GMPs, and regulatory requirements like 21 CFR Part 11
- Experience in Capital Project Lifecycle Management from conceptual design to execution
- Strong technical writing and communication skills
