About the role

Responsibilities

  • Brainstorm, trial, and implement continuous improvement projects to reduce build hours and defects
  • Work with multi-disciplinary teams to develop and qualify new manufacturing techniques and processes
  • Document manufacturing systems downtime and troubleshoot issues to improve efficiency
  • Design, build, and commission electromechanical equipment and tooling
  • Write and update process work instructions
  • Troubleshoot and resolve nonconformances and production blockers
  • Perform R&D and prototype hardware builds using precision calibrated tools

Requirements

  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience with technical assembly (mechanical and electrical)
  • Strong electro-mechanical system troubleshooting skills
  • Proficiency with MS Office products (Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint, Visio)
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical activities like standing or stooping for extended periods
  • Commitment to safety in environments involving heat, noise, high voltage, and cryogenics
  • Ability to work a weekend first shift (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) from 6:00 am - 6:00 pm

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate degree in an engineering-related field or higher
  • Experience with lean manufacturing, 5S, and Six Sigma principles
  • Experience with manufacturing equipment development or electro-mechanical system design and maintenance
