Manufacturing Software Engineer

Responsibilities

• Build Go services in a microservice architecture to acquire, normalize, and publish equipment data
• Engineer for high concurrency and high throughput with low-latency processing
• Maintain ERP/PLM integration microservices to sync work orders, BOMs, and genealogy records
• Build event-driven data pipelines for production and quality analytics
• Implement observability including metrics, tracing, and alerting
• Contribute to internal tooling and dashboards for production data

Requirements

• 2–3 years of professional software engineering experience in backend or systems software
• Strong distributed systems fundamentals (concurrency, consistency, fault tolerance)
• Experience designing and operating microservice architectures
• Proficiency in Go or a strong systems-language background
• Hands-on manufacturing or shop floor software experience
• ERP and/or PLM integration background (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Teamcenter)
• Working knowledge of SCADA/MES and industrial protocols like OPC-UA
• Ability to work on-site in Burlingame, CA

Preferred Qualifications

• Direct experience with OPC-UA client/server implementations
• Experience with event streaming (Kafka, Kinesis, NATS) and time-series data
• Experience building data lakes or ELT pipelines
• Familiarity with traceability/genealogy systems in manufacturing
• AWS and Kubernetes (EKS) operational experience
• Background in batteries or energy storage hardware
