Manufacturing Reliability Engineer

Responsibilities

• Create, validate, and maintain production test protocols and gating criteria from incoming inspection through final test and shipment
• Design and operate provisioning flows including imaging, firmware deployment, configuration, and validation
• Own key production metrics such as First Pass Yield (FPY), cycle time, and test coverage
• Architect, implement, and maintain automated test frameworks, harnesses, and test rigs at the CM site
• Lead root-cause analysis for field and production failures and coordinate corrective actions
• Act as the onsite technical authority at the contract manufacturer to train operators and debug failures

Requirements

• 5+ years experience in production/test engineering for complex electro-mechanical products
• Proven ownership of E2E production test processes and provisioning at a contract manufacturer
• Deep familiarity with test protocol development, fixture design, and automated test implementation
• Strong hands-on experience with firmware provisioning and validation for sensors and compute
• Broad technical knowledge in systems integration, sensors (LiDAR, IMU, cameras), and embedded compute platforms
• Excellent debugging skills across hardware, firmware, and system software
• Data-driven mindset with experience in statistical process control and KPI reporting
• Ability to be onsite full-time at a contract manufacturer and travel as needed

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with robotics stacks like ROS or equivalent
• Experience with robotic sensor calibration and testing
• Familiarity with manufacturing automation tools and CI for embedded systems
• Proficiency with Python, pytest, or LabVIEW
• Experience provisioning large fleets with device identity and secure image signing
