About the role
Responsibilities
- Oversee press operations, including setting up tonnage, cure time, temperature, and speed control
- Manage production documentation, labor tickets, and production records to ensure accuracy
- Inspect parts for flaws and troubleshoot molding issues for rejected parts
- Supervise and assist employees, including facilitating training for press operators
- Assign presses and manage material movement from staging areas to the press line
- Communicate production and press-related information to shift supervisors and support departments
- Apply LEAN concepts such as TAKT, time, and capacity measures to optimize workflow
- Approve employee time in Mercury (Kronos) and fill in for supervisors when necessary
Requirements
- Minimum of one year of related manufacturing experience
- Experience in a production environment in a supervisory or lead role
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Basic mathematical skills, including the ability to convert weights and measures
- Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting up to 50 pounds and standing for prolonged periods
- Ability to work in a hot manufacturing environment
