Manufacturing IT Operations Specialist/LAN

Responsibilities

• Maintain, analyze, troubleshoot, and repair LAN network systems, hardware, and computer peripherals within a manufacturing facility
• Support GM-managed Cisco LAN and WAN network infrastructure hardware
• Perform Cisco switch, AP, and WhereNet hardware configuration and replacement
• Support wireless network and end-device configuration/replacement
• Configure network switch ports for IT devices and support VoIP and analog phone devices
• Perform network Change Controls and Layer 1-4 switching and routing troubleshooting
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams including plant maintenance, engineering, and vendor teams

Requirements

• 3+ years of IT experience with Cisco LAN and WAN networks
• Associate degree minimum
• Proficiency with Windows 7 and Windows 10 operating systems
• Knowledge of Layer 1-4 troubleshooting, switching, and routing
• Basic understanding of Active Directory management
• Familiarity with ITIL concepts such as Incident, Change, and Asset Management
• Ability to climb ladders to access network platforms and lift up to 25 pounds

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting end-user devices (PCs, printers, scanners, mobile phones, and tablets)
• Knowledge of Server environments and Server Virtualization concepts (VMWare)
• Understanding of IT Monitoring tools such as Site Scope or HP-OM
• Familiarity with remote PC management tools (VNC, VPN, RDP, Bomgar)
