About the role

Responsibilities

  • Lead manufacturing teams to drive operational excellence and manage daily production activities
  • Analyze and respond to manufacturing daily plans, making necessary operational adjustments
  • Manage multiple tasks and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Drive accountability through people and processes, including managing change and navigating ambiguity
  • Oversee quality assurance, inspection, and problem-solving initiatives
  • Ensure adherence to safety protocols and wear required personal protective equipment

Requirements

  • One year of direct supervisory experience (or 5 months as an internal GM per diem group leader)
  • Experience managing people, leading teams, and addressing performance concerns
  • Proven ability to solve complex problems and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong interpersonal, conflict management, and decision-making skills
  • Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Word, email, etc.)
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to work rotating shifts and regular weekends (approximately two weekends per month)
  • Physical stamina to stand for long periods, bend, twist, and lift up to 40 lbs.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Continuous Improvement Processes (CIP) or Lean Manufacturing
  • Proficiency in Throughput Improvement Process (TIP)
  • Experience supervising employees in a union environment
  • Experience with Supply Chain, Quality, or Built-in-Quality initiatives
  • Red X & DFSS Certification
  • Knowledge of timekeeping systems
