About the role
Responsibilities
- Lead a group of skilled hourly workers to troubleshoot and repair complex manufacturing equipment and processes
- Analyze and respond to the manufacturing daily plan, making necessary operational adjustments
- Manage multiple tasks and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Drive accountability through people and processes, including conducting difficult conversations and addressing performance concerns
- Perform preventative maintenance and diagnose equipment malfunctions
- Implement divisional and corporate policies, safety protocols, and good housekeeping practices
- Supervise the efficient use of labor, inventory, and machinery
Requirements
- One year of direct team supervisory experience (or 5 months as an internal GM per diem group leader)
- Experience reading and understanding electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic blueprints
- Proven ability to solve complex problems in a fast-paced environment
- Strong interpersonal, conflict management, and decision-making skills
- Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Word and email
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Ability to work rotating shifts and regular weekends (approximately two weekends per month)
- Ability to work in a loud manufacturing environment and perform physical tasks including lifting up to 40 lbs and standing for prolonged periods
Preferred Qualifications
- Journeyperson status or a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
- Strong critical thinking and analytical skills
- Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously
- Experience collaborating across multiple functions within a manufacturing setting
